OOPS Inc.® does not believe putting a band-aid on an issue is an effective solution to workplace issues. It is essential to identify and address the ROOT cause of the conflict. Our mission is to provide you with the resources to do so. Our unique C.A.R.E. process identifies the root issues that need to be addressed to truly resolve what is happening in your workplace:

Assessing

Our team will:

  • Conduct employee surveys to identify problematic issues in the workplace;
  • Conduct workplace assessments to identify and evaluate the nature and extent of the conflict;
  • Conduct threat assessments to identify and evaluate potential workplace violence.

From these assessments, we identify the root issues, which may include:

  1. unresolved issues from the past
  2. personality differences
  3. condonation of behaviour
  4. ineffective leadership
  5. physical or mental disabilities
  6. lack of communication skills.

We summarize our findings in a comprehensive report and provide recommendations on practical ways to address and resolve the situation. Depending on these findings, we may suggest one or a combination of the following proactive options – Education, Coaching, or Resolution Services – in order to effectively address the workplace issue(s).

Educating

Being proactive and providing your employees with information on workplace harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence helps to foster a Respectful Workplace.

Our educators teach your employees how to respect each other’s differences and work together as a team. We customize workshops to fit your organization and educate in a style that is informal, engaging, and easy to understand. As a result, all employees, regardless of education, experience, and employment level, easily learn and apply new skills.

OOPS Inc.® offers the following training sessions:

  • The Respectful Workplace (two-hour employee workshop or four-hour manager workshop)
    This highly interactive workshop teaches participants what harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence are (and what they are not), the consequences of these acts, and what to do if these acts occur.
  • BC HRMA AccreditedConducting Bullying & Harassment Investigations in the Workplace (two-day workshop)
    This comprehensive workshop teaches human resources personnel, administrators, union representatives, and managers how to thoroughly investigate any allegation of harassment, discrimination, or bullying.
    * This workshop has CPHR BC & YK Accredited Status and is eligible for 12 CPD Hours.
  • Conflict Resolution – “How to Have the Tough Conversations” (one-day workshop)
    This dynamic hands-on workshop teaches your leaders and/or employees how to resolve interpersonal conflicts in the workplace.
  • Bullying in the Workplace (two-hour employee workshop or four-hour manager workshop)
    This bullying-specific workshop teaches managers and employees how to recognize workplace bullying and apply the latest tools and strategies to effectively address the issue.
  • Sensitivity Awareness (three-hour private program)
    This program is specifically designed for leaders and employees who have been found to be in breach of their organization’s Respectful Workplace policy. Through one-on-one coaching, participants will gain valuable insight into appropriate and respectful workplace behaviour.

Coaching

Our professional business and leadership coaches help your organization integrate the Respectful Workplace concept by calling on individuals to be accountable for their own actions. Coaching offers a safe, supportive space to explore how an individual’s personality style is either helping or hindering respectful workplace dynamics. It is one of the most effective strategies for making positive, lasting change at a personal level that adds value to the organization as a whole.

We provide customized coaching programs to help employees and leaders learn more about their own strengths as well as areas for personal growth that will empower them to improve their performance and achieve greater career satisfaction.

Coaching sessions may focus on one or more of the following:

  • Leadership effectiveness
  • Communication skills
  • Improved working relationships
  • Stress and conflict handling strategies

Resolving

When employees bring forward concerns, or even formal complaints under your organization’s Respectful Workplace policy, it is critical that some type of resolution be achieved in order to avoid continued escalation of the issue, costly litigation, media headlines and employee disengagement.

It is much better to be proactive than reactive!

OOPS Inc.® provides the following services to assist you in resolving conflict in your workplace:

  • Third-party facilitated discussions between affected parties (individuals and/or groups)
  • Development of Respectful Workplace Pact (RWP) within working groups and departments
  • Neutral mediations to achieve a mutually satisfactory agreement (individuals and/or groups)
  • Impartial investigations of formal complaints.
