Pink Shirt Day

OOPS would like to share some of our quick
tips on what you can do to help create
& maintain a respectful workplace:

1. Think about our own behaviour and how it can be perceived  - we all have the potential of doing or saying things that may be perceived as bullying by other people.
2.  Call out the bully (if it's happening to you or you witness it) - doing this puts them on notice that their behaviour will not be tolerated.
3. If you can't call them out on your own, or they continue with the unacceptable behaviour, tell someone (HR or Manager or Union). Unless you report it, nothing usually is done & the bullying will most likely continue.
4. And, if you are a manager, don't bury your head in the sand or ignore it, as it usually doesn't go away and usually gets worse. The main reasons bullies exist in the workplace is because they are allowed to exist! Effective performance management of a bully is the most powerful tool in dealing with workplace bullying.
We all have a role to play, not just today,
but each and everyday!
